About the completed bike and frame of the minor change SURLY MIDNIGHT SPECIAL

A new color for the hugely popular SURLY MIDNIGHT SPECIAL has been announced.

Let's take a look at the minor changes made to each part.

This new frame comes in a gold color, giving it a brilliant yet subdued impression.

This complete bike comes with newly specified parts, so let's take a closer look.

Check ①: Decal set attached to the frame.

It features the stylish font used on Surly's original road bike, the Pacer.

In fact, the Midnight Special is said to be the successor to the Pacer, offering a nostalgic glimpse for those who have loved Surly for many years.

Check ②: The component set is now for Shimano road bikes.

The shifting system has been significantly changed to a road bike specification, unlike previous complete bikes.

It now features the Shimano 105 series 12-speed specification, with a front double 50-34t and a rear 11-34t, which is a common gear ratio for road bikes.

The shifters are cable-actuated, and the brakes are hydraulic.

Check ③: 700c wheels are adopted.

While previous Midnight Specials came standard with 650B wheelsets, 700c is now the standard size.

The tires are Teravail Rampart 700x38c.

With slick tires, it's designed for a comfortable ride on paved roads.

Although the Midnight Special has just been announced, it seems that most models are already sold out through pre-orders.
